Here are answers to some commonly asked questions:
When is the first day of school?

What are the school's hours?
School starts at 8:40am everyday.
You can arrive as early as 8am when the school yard is opened.
You can drop off as early as 8:20am, when supervision in the yard begins.
If you need to drop off before 8:20am, look into our extended care program.
School ends at 2:55pm everyday except Wednesday, when school is out at 1:40pm.
- Monday: 8:40am – 2:55pm
- Tuesday: 8:40am – 2:55pm
- Wednesday: 8:40am – 1:40pm
- Thursday: 8:40am – 2:55pm
- Friday: 8:40am – 2:55pm
We strongly urge you to walk, roll, or take public transit to school, but if you must drive, read about how to drop off and pickup in our White Zone.

Does the school have a uniform?
Yes, the school uniform is a heather gray shirt with black bottoms. The bottoms can be can be pants, shorts, a jumper, a skirt, etc. The only logo allowed on a shirt is the Dolores Huerta Elementary logo, but children may wear old “Fairmount” logo white shirts until they are worn out.

What is the extended care program?
Before and After School care is provided on school grounds by the Mission YMCA.
